Hey Coach Risley here, and this week is all about helping you understand your own goals. We all have moments during our fitness journey where we doubt ourselves and are unsure if we can actually reach the goals we set out to do.
I’m here to tell you that you can. Not only that but I'm here to help you understand what realistic expectations are. Sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in what we want rather than taking it one moment at a time to just focus on getting better.
Some of us want to perform a certain way in our sports and some of us want to hit that all-time low or high on that scale. I want to help shift your mindset to just understand what you need to do daily because that’s what trusting the process means.
Trusting the process is about consistency. Understanding what needs to be done so you can comfortably cross that finish line when the time comes. This means we need to segment our tasks and slowly check them off one by one until the end is met.
When it comes to segmenting our tasks, we need to consider a few things to help balance our nutrition and training routines. Here are some key factors to keep in mind:
Time: How much time can you realistically devote to your training and nutrition each day? It's important to prioritize your time and make sure that you can commit to your daily routine.
Stress: Will your lifestyle and goals allow you to keep your stress levels moderate? High levels of stress can be detrimental to your overall health and can hinder progress toward your goals.
Nutrition: Do you understand the plan you need to follow in order to achieve your goals? Proper nutrition is essential to achieving your goals and it's important to have a solid understanding of what you need to do to get there.
Training: Do you understand why you're following a particular training plan? It's important to have a clear understanding of why you're doing the exercises you're doing and how they will help you achieve your goals.
Love: Are you enjoying the process? It's important to find joy in your daily routines and activities to help keep you motivated and committed to reaching your goals.
Trusting the process only works if you first know what the damn process is! After that is understood, we slowly chip away at it with consistency, and viola! You’re that much better and stronger.
