How To Have Energy For Training! This Is Your Guide To Be Energized.

Risley Tang

What’s up?! Coach here, I’m willing to bet that you’ve had a few sessions over your lifetime where you walked into the gym and you felt like crap. You were tired all day maybe you worked a lot, maybe you didn’t. One thing's for sure, you feel like a mess. Don’t worry, I’ve been there too! Here are some of the strategies I have found useful in many situations.

The first and most common problem is just a long day full of mental or physical stimulation. You got off a long, hard nine-hour shift, and rightfully so, you’re tired. During situations like these, I would personally suggest either taking a nice little power nap or drinking some pre-workout before your session. Keep in mind if you do take caffeine that there is a chance that it will affect your sleep especially the later you take it.

The second most common problem is people feeling lethargic. I can guarantee we've all felt like that pug before, where we just feel tired and sluggish. Sometimes people oversleep, and sometimes it was just a messy day where your schedule was all over the place and things just didn’t seem in place. Having a routine is very important for us as humans we naturally adapt, but consistency is also king so going to bed at similar times and waking up at similar times even training at similar times is naturally what our body loves. So try your best to keep a routine of things so your body can naturally adapt to it.

Lastly, the biggest thing is understanding your recovery. These are the most important factors:

  • Getting enough sleep

  • Drinking enough water

  • Giving your body the appropriate fuel

  • Creating a manageable routine

While this seems pretty straightforward and simple, many of you probably already know these factors. They are by no means easy, even I struggle with them. I think the more powerful thing here is constantly reminding ourselves that we may need to just do better.

So here’s a little bit of food for thought the next time you go into your training session, feeling a little bit tired and wondering why you feel this way. As always, I’m here to answer all of your questions, and feel free to message me anytime. See you all next week!
