Maximizing Your Performance: A Guide to Understanding Your Workload.

Risley Tang

Coach Risley here, today is all about helping you understand maximizing performance in training. We need to figure out the exact amount of work you need to do to get stronger.

There are 3 big factors for consideration in this plan:

  1. Your workload.

  2. Your nutrition.

  3. Your recovery.

Now let's dive a little deeper into these 3 factors.

Workload

Your perfect workout load is understanding effort level and how much you need as a minimum for progress. Push yourself! Push yourself hard within 4 repetitions of failure, if you’re finding yourself doing lots of sets where most sets barely have real effort put into them, consider decreasing volume so you can increase intensity. More is less sometimes.

Nutrition

Your perfect nutrition plan is the one you can be the most consistent in. Eat similar foods at similar times if performance is a priority to you. Use supplements such as pre-workouts and creatine to further help with performance when appropriate.

Recovery

Your perfect recovery plan is understanding what stresses your body. Manage mental fatigue as well as you can so you can go into training with a clear mind, you are as good in training as the day is if you can’t separate the two. Make sure you rest well and get a good night's sleep, getting quality sleep is the most important factor of performance next to the actual activity itself.

So here’s your guide to kill your next training session. What’s stopping you from growing?
