Hey, gym rat! Coach Risley here and I’m here to sell you on the idea of community today. You love the gym, you love fitness and being healthy so wouldn’t it only naturally make sense to be able to bond with like-minded people in the community too? Here are the powers it can bring you, whether the community is online or at your local gym:
Support System: Regardless of whether you're having a great day or struggling with challenges, a strong community will always be there to offer guidance, motivation, and encouragement.
Diverse Perspectives: Being in a larger community than just yourself has its benefits. There will be more than one set of opinions and that’s a good thing! This allows you to open your mindset, challenge your assumptions, and explore yourself more deeply.
Social Relief: Having a bunch of people you know in the gym is great! We’ve all been in a big box gym before and it just sucks when it’s all awkward and you don’t feel comfortable! A supportive community creates a welcoming environment where you can be yourself, build relationships, and share the joy of fitness with others.
So whether you’re already in a small community or you find yourself feeling out of place, I strongly encourage those of you who already have the community to start being more open to newcomers and making them feel more comfortable so that they may one day find their group of people. Together, we can create a vibrant and supportive fitness community where everyone feels accepted and supported.
Go out there and make a positive impact, I will see you all next week.
