You Are Only As Good As You Are: A Guide To Not Compare Yourself To Others.

Risley Tang

Hey coach Risley here, this week we’re going to talk about the mental benefits of being the best version of you versus endlessly attaining something greater than us.

Yeah, I want to look like that fitness model too and perform like an Olympian as well, but at the end of the day you’re only as good as you are right now, so why compare yourself to something that can potentially demotivate you?

I don’t think being competitive is bad, I think it’s a great way to motivate yourself at kicking it up a gear with your activity. But I also think most people should also work on themselves before adopting a competitive mentality so they don’t fall into the trap of letting their comparisons to themselves become negative.

To reiterate, you are only as good as you are right now. If you want to get to the next level you must be willing to put in the work and bring yourself to the next level. This is the bottom line of self-improvement, so take this opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and become better today.

As always I’m here to help if you need! Feel free to reach out whenever and let’s have a chat.
